Tobacco use: maternal smoking by SIMD quintile

Chart 1 shows the percentage of women recorded as smoking during pregnancy by Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) quintile. SIMD is the Scottish Executive's official measure of area based multiple deprivation. It can be seen that a higher percentage were recorded as smoking during pregnancy in the more deprived SIMD quintiles.
