Health inequalities: key data sources

Inequalities can be shown for all the different health topics presented on this website. For examples, please refer to the various 'data' pages of the topic of interest.

Note, however, that a recent (November 2006) Scottish Executive publication is very relevant:  High Level Summary of Equality Statistics: Key Trends for Scotland 2006. This includes a range of "high level" statistics across a number of equality dimensions including age, disability, ethnicity, gender and in some cases religion.

Note also that NHS Health Scotland's Community Profiles (now held on this website) can be used to examine differences in around 60 health and health related indicators for small areas (postcode sectors) across Scotland. The data is also available via the pilot interactive profiles pages.
