Immunisations: vaccine preventable diseases

It is important to know what proportion of any targeted population has received each vaccine. In Scotland, vaccine uptake for childhood immunisation programme is measured quarterly by the Scottish Immunisation Recall System (SIRS). Statistics on uptake of the vaccines for the following infections are summarised below. Further information is available from the Child Health Team based at ISD:

Health Protection Scotland publish Surveillance reports, available from the Immunisation and Vaccine Preventable Diseases section of their website, which provide updates on the science behind the vaccines, trends in uptake, any changes to the immunisation programmes as well as giving advice to support the immunisation programmes.
