Asthma epidemiology

The Lung and Asthma Information Agency (LAIA) provides epidemiological data on lung disease, including asthma, in the UK.

The European Respiratory Society produced the European Lung White book (2003) which provides comparisons of asthma prevalence and mortality amongst European countries.

The European Community Respiratory Health Survey. ECRHS II was a prospective survey of around 10,000 adults which collected data using standardised questionnaires from 29 centres in 14 mostly European countries.

The International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC) study has published a number of reports (see key references) on asthma in children.
