Oral health: international data on 12-year-olds - trends
International data are available for 11/12-year-olds showing trends in their dental health over a period of nearly 30 years. A number of European countries, the UK/GB and Scotland have been selected for illustration in the linked Excel chart (30Kb). It can be seen that in many countries, including Scotland, there was a steep decline in the prevalence of dental caries among 11/12-year-olds in the period between the late 1970s/early 1980s and the late 1980s/early 1990s, but this has been followed by a more gradual decline.
