Organisations
The Centre for Evidence in Ethnicity, Health and Diversity at the University of Warwick provides information about ethnicity and health.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission came into being in 2007, replacing the functions of the Commission for Racial Equality, the Disability Rights Commission and the Equal Opportunities Commission.
The Health Scotland Equalities and Planning Directorate of NHS Health Scotland provides a centre of expert advice and support to NHS Scotland on delivering equality and diversity, eliminating discrimination and reducing health inequalities.
The ISD Equality and Diversity Information Programme aims to improve the quality of routine information on ethnicity from the health service.
The Scottish Government's Equality Unit provides information on all the equality strands.
The South Asian Health Foundation site provides reports relevant to the health of South Asians including a monograph on Heart Disease in South Asians (690Kb).
The UK Department of Health publishes information about its work on race equality.
Libraries and databases
The equality in health website run by NHS Education Scotland (NES) provides information on health inequalities in Scotland including those related to ethnicity.
The NHS ethnicity and health specialist library is part of the NHS National Library for Health.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have an Equalities in Health site with a range of useful resources.
Reports
The Glasgow Anti-racism Alliance (GARA) published a review of race and racism in Scotland in 2008 entitled the State of the Nation report. This reviews a range of data on ethnic minorities (including health aspects) with a focus on Glasgow.
The Scottish Government published a High Level Summary of Equality Statistics: Key Trends for Scotland 2006. This includes a range of "high level" statistics across a number of equality dimensions including age, disability, ethnicity, gender and in some cases religion.
