COVID-19 burden of disease
The Scottish Burden of Disease study have carried out work to estimate the overall direct impact of COVID-19 on population health, and inequalities in this, measured by disability-adjusted life years (DALYs). DALYs are the number of years lost to premature mortality and ill-health, compared to aspirational health. See the Burden of Disease section of the website for further information on this work.
