Future burden of disease
A version of the ‘Scottish Burden of Disease - disease-specific forecasts of prevalence and burden’ reports were published temporarily in error on 27 May 2025. Please note that the version below supersede these previous versions.
Recently, the Scottish Burden of Disease study has been developed to explore future population health trends and scenarios. These foresight exercises allow us to anticipate the potential scale of future challenges for public health and the health and social care system in Scotland.
