Gender: useful links

NHS Health Scotland provides web resources on gender and health including sections on gender based violence.

The NHS' National Gender Based Violence and Health programme website provides a wide range of information and resources.

The Scottish Government's gender equality section gives information on work to promote it in Scotland and on plans for full implementation of the Equality Act 2010.

The Scottish Government's equality evidence finder provides links to evidence on gender equality more widely than health.

Third Sector organisations of relevance include Zero Tolerance and Scottish Women’s Aid (both campaign to end violence against women, SWA also provide direct support to women and children who have experienced abuse),  White Ribbon (who campaign to involve men in tackling violence against women), and Engender (who campaign for gender equality). The Trades Union Congress campaigns for gender equality in the workplace and beyond.

Internationally, the World Health Organization puts gender, equity and human rights at the core of the health response.
