Obesity: data introduction
The following data pages provide access to detailed statistics on obesity, as measured by body mass index (BMI). For more information on BMI and other measures of obesity, including waist hip ratio and waist circumference, see the measurement section.
Table 1 summarises the dimensions/geographies at which the data are presented, either within the data pages which follow or through hyperlinks to other websites.
Due to the effect of Covid19, the most recent Scottish Health Survey was self-reported and conducted over phones as opposed to the normal procedure of in person interviewing.
